What's your story?

…“You have a go” I replied, absent mindedly, as I ran the plan through my head.

It was simple.

I had hired alpha team, guaranteeing them that they would be safe. A team of six, expendables. They would hold up the bank and take as much cash, they were to be no more than 15 minutes, at that point a van will pull up, and leave no more than a minute later.

Of course there was no van, and little did they know this bank; of which was on the outskirts of the financial district, had only just had its security system updated a mere three days prior. The police would arrive 9 minutes into the heist.

This was intentional of course…

A Christmas Story - Part 1

Based upon an idea contributed by: xbrighteyesx

Now children, I have a story for you.

Snuggle up under your blankets, eat your cookies and milk if you must, for i shall tell you the real reason behind Christmas. Little Johnny, move away from the fire, we don’t want you to miss out now do we?

Now, several years ago, before you were even born…

There was a man by the name of Nicholas.

Now Nicholas was a grumpy old man, living alone in a small cottage house outside of a small countryside town next to a local school.

Nicholas had no company but of his Border Collie, named Jack. Jack was also an old dog, however, had lots of energy, too much for Nicholas to handle.

At the school next door to Nicholas, children as young as yourselves liked to play tricks on old Nicholas. Some were so mean that it caused a lot of stress and anger.

At one point it had become too much for Old Nicholas, even his dog was getting fed up with the constant tricks.

So old Nick came up with a plan, he was going to wait until the children came along one day, and play his own little trick upon them…

Little did he know that they were planning the biggest tricks of them all..

Daddy always loved me,
he used to show he cared,
hurt me he never would,
he absolutely wouldn’t dare.

But once evening came around, as it always did,
The alcohol changed his mood, the popping of a lid.
As the empty bottles kept on growing,
his rage at nothing kept on showing.

Daddy always hurt me,
he showed me that he cared.
All the other boys and girls their faces showing fear,
always with a piece of wood,
it was only how he ever could
his love that he shared.

Daddy always loves me,
he still shows that he cares,
every month or so, is all that he can bear.
From behind those bars, he tells me his love,
always strong and true, “All these tears I have, will always be for you.”

My Story: Blur

———

Realisation struck her eyes, widening immediately. As she shook Charlotte’s arm to rouse her.

Oh shit Charlie, its all bloody. Lie down, let me get a nurse!

I did feel woozy all of a sudden, and wondered for a second why i everything had turned sideways.

Who flicked off the lights?…

The next few weeks were a blur, all I remember was Mel constantly by my side, often just sitting in the couch at the foot of my bed, reading, writing or just watching me. She hardly ever moved, as far as I know, i blacked out often, sometimes more than 5 or 6 times a day, doctors and nurses coming and going, even Chris was out of the hospital before me, him and Charlotte often coming to visit me.

I wasn’t the best of company, my doctor told me I had an accelerated healing process, a genetic gift from my parents. One of which left me tired and prone to blackouts, however, the injuries i sustained were meant to have killed me, well… killed me permanently.

Three weeks had passed since the accident, all that was plaguing my mind was that out of body experience. I hadn’t mentioned it to anyone but Mel, I was afraid of what the doctors would think.

I had to be knocked out to get to my apartment, as to avoid trigger memories whilst travelling in the car. The doctor suggested I wait three weeks until I do so again.

Lying on the bed, my arms wrapped around Mel as she slept softly. Her breathing slow, unburdened, she shuffled her body closer to mine, filling up the gaps. I moved my hand to pull her hair back, rubbing it softly against her neck, watching her eyes flutter as she entered REM sleep, dreaming of the wondrous alternate reality her mind created.

I whispered something in her ear, she stirred, her eyes still closed, she moved around, reaching for my hand, clasping it she held on tight. Her fingers interlocking with mine, as she whispered.

Just fall asleep with me.
